What it is: This new-to-Canada brand backed by YouTube creator Mindy McKnight offers clean, vegan and cruelty-free hair care options for a variety of different hair types.
“I’m a believer in inclusivity and accessibility,” McKnight said in a news release. “Raising children with a diverse range of hair types and textures, I’ve had first-hand experience with the lack of accessible, affordable and effective products for families. This brand is close to my heart, and I cannot wait to share Hairitage with Canadians.”
The hair-care line includes more than 15 products that provide options for “straight, wavy, curly and coily hair,” according to the brand.
What we say: Our tester, who has processed platinum-blond hair, tried the Pass on the Brass Purple Shampoo and Color Check Color Care Conditioner.
Formulated with murumuru butter and elderberry to leave hair soft, the shampoo promises to also tone brassiness. She noticed it helped reduce the appearance of yellow in her strands without drying it out like some purple potions do.
The lightweight conditioner gave hair a nice dose of hydration without weighing down her fine-textured hair.
Where to get it: Walmart, Walmart.ca
What it will cost you: $11.97.
